Hi there,
Today has prompted me to blog.
I had a plan for my Friday morning– wait until the baby wakes up from her morning nap, get her ready quickly, and go grab some brunch at Alpine Modern Café then run some errands.

How is it possible that my little one is already 8 months old?
With every day, I notice more and more of new things she does. She picked up a habit to always scrunch her nose while making ridiculously funny sounds. Or today she crawled all the way to the hallway by the laundry room and started to play with the door stopper thing. Next thing I see her do is to take off the white tip of the door stopper and put in her mouth (talk about choking hazard)!!! How does she think of the things like that? I took off all of the white tips from the door stoppers. Then she found the broom and entertained herself with the dog hair on it.
There is so much I want to share. To share how the past 7 months have been for me, for us.
I’ve told myself that I am going to write at least once a month about the things with the baby, so in time, I can look back and re-live these precious moments– the moments that might get forgotten over time. And I was right.
I try to close my eyes and remember the first night with her. I remember glimpses but not every moment. To me, that is incredibly sad. To forget.

Hi world!
It has been a long time since I’ve written here. One thing is for sure– if before the baby I had way too much time on my hands, now I never enough and I kind of love it!
I want to write about my birth experience as I know there are many mamas out there that are preparing to bring their little ones earth side and just like me in the last trimester reading a ton of birth stories… I mean, I was like that. And let me tell you, it was nothing like I could have imagined or read. It is true when they say that each story is never the same and I want to share mine with you.

At 36 weeks, Frederick and I went to the RMNP to shoot my maternity photos… little did we know that dogs are not allowed on trails apparently– we were politely told by the park rangers and the conversation went something like this:
Park Ranger: Oh, that’s a beautiful pup you got there!
Frederick: Thanks!
PR: Are you guys from here?
F: Yea…
PR: oh neat, and you are so excited to take your doggie on the trail and enjoy all the beautiful scenery… gorgeous weather we got today, huh?
F: Oh yes, we are pretty excited about it!
PR: well, you can’t bring dogs on trail!
F: okay… have a good day! (jerk)
(drove down, parked, and went on trail anyway…lol)

I can hardly believe that I am already at 30 weeks! The other day, I had my midwife appointment and seems like things are going well! Belly is measuring at 30cm, baby’s heart beat is at 130s, and she has already rotated herself into the right position (head down). She has also been kicking a lot more (at my ribs mostly, haha) and more powerful.

I was going to post a recipe for strawberry jam tonight… the reason I bought a huge case of strawberries. BUT look at these beauties– no way I was going to mess with it by adding tons of sugar and boiling all the flavor from them!

A few days ago I made baklava for the first time ever! It looks like a lot of work but believe me, it was one of the easiest things I have ever baked!
YOU WILL NEED:
Fillo dough package (can buy at any grocery store)
1 cup of coarsely chopped (I used a mix of raw shelled pistachios and walnuts)
2 tbs sugar
1 tbs ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
9 tbs butter (melted)
Honey Syrup:
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup honey
Zest from one small orange and some juice of
A splash of lemon juice

I can’t believe it is already April! Whoa time flies! However, this past month I have been in love with a few things that I would like to share with you!
1. Bake From Scratch (the French issue) magazine that was filled with recipes of all my favorite French baked goodies such as palmiers, brioches… fun stuff! I also been loving making biscuits… yum!
2. Løv tea (linden+rose) that I stumbled upon in Whole Foods. It has bits of apples, linden, and rose. Very light and calming.
3. So last month I went blonde (again!!!) and have been loving the Blue Malva conditioner with a violet tint that refreshes the color and keeps it from going yellow! It smells really good too!
4. Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer is the best! It protects the skin and gives a little tint that does not look like you have a layer of foundation! Nice and light!
5. Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick in Cayenne has been my favorite red lipstick! It stays on like a stain almost and has a citrusy taste 🙂
xoxo,
O

Today we got it confirmed!!! We are indeed having a little GIRL! I am so excited– all the cute little girl clothes, all the hair braiding, teaching her how to cook… life is about to become a whole new level of fun and I cannot wait for it! 19 more weeks to go!!!
