San Diego
This past weekend I had my birthday! It is hard for me to believe that I’m 25 now… a quarter of a whole century!!! The year of 24 was quite an amazing one… but I’m thinking 25 gonna beat it..I’M GETTING MARRIED IN 95 DAYS!!!

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I am a sucker for adventures! So Frederick gave me another perfect birthday- last year he took me to Chattanooga, TN where I went to college at (SAU), so I could see my college friends!

This year he surprised me by taking me to San Diego!!! Now, I have never been to any part of California before so this was super exciting to me.

We left early Friday and 2.5 hours later were in a beautiful San Diego! Hmmm but it was raining… I read that the weather on your birthday reflects the mood of past year… ummm no… because last year was anything but rainy for me.

Anyways… first we went to the ZOO. Yes! It was amazing! Even if it was raining, most animals were up and doing something… I saw lots of snakes, lizard dragons (or however you call them), frogs, polar bears, beavers, flamingoes, zebras, giraffes, pandas, koalas, and lots of other ones that I do not remember the name of.  We also were able to take a skyfari. Then we got tired of the rain and left onto our next adventure- IN-N-OUT for a true Californian experience… hahah

Next came the Seaport Village.  Reminded me of one of those places in Florida called Sponge Docks.  Same idea- lots of useless souvenir shops, weird art galleries… but it was fun! At some point we almost got stuck with this lady who tried to sell us salt rub for our hands… Our hands smelled like cheap car air-fresheners for an hour! Then we went to a cupcake shop and got some cupcakes- since it was my birthday… I ate this hazelnut bluebbery one.. yummy! We walked around a bit more and stopped to take pictures at these weird asian looking sculptures. I think we went to the mall after since it was pouring outside and walked around and then watched a movie called Kingsman something.

Then we went to find our AirBnb place which was super close to downtown area.

For dinner Frederick took me to this amazing Pomegranate Russian-Georgian restaurant and I ordered borscht and chebureki… and a honey cake!! Ahhh this was a perfect birthday ending!

The next day we got up pretty early even though I felt like I could sleep forever more and started on our adventure with some yummy breakfast from this place called Café 222… they are famous for this waffle french toast thingy, but I ordered eggs Benedict.

With our bellies full we shopped around and then headed to La Jolla Cove beach.  Did I mention that the weather was absolutely beautiful? It was finally warm and sunny! La Jolla beach was so pretty to me.  I saw tons of seals just being flat lazy… laying around.. THEN we stopped for lunch at Puesto Mexican Street Food restaurant.. honestly if you ever there- best tacos ever, especially the lamb ones… also mango-lime aqua fresca was mmmm.

We walked a bit more and headed back to our place, picked up our things and headed to the airport to be on time for our flight… only to find out that our flight was delayed because of snow in Colorado! WHAT?!!! Snow again!

You guys, it was so cold… especially for Frederick this time.. he was wearing shorts and birks… which I did last year..

Finally at 5 am we got home.. dead tired.

BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

Thank you Frederick! One lucky girl right here 🙂
