A few weeks ago at work, one of my coworkers and I were talking about hikes close to Boulder, CO. She mentioned a couple but the one that intrigued me the most was the Gross Reservoir. So weeks later (after hiking the Flatirons and the Boulder Falls) it was time to check out the reservoir.
It was quite the adventure to get to it though. Apple maps never fail to surprise me. This time we ended up driving up a very thin dirt road that kept saying “private property”. The problem was that there was no way to turn around! In some time we finally reached a little driveway and were able to turn back. After some searching, we were at our destination- the beautiful Gross Reservoir. Now, I did not expect this view at all!! So exciting!
Murï (our pup) immediately jumped out of the car and was ready for another hiking experience. It was his third one.
We decided to bypass the actual hiking trail and went around the shore. Haha Murï had never really seen such big body of water so his instinct was to jump in and swim… You could see that he got a little nervous and started swimming not towards the shore but away… kind of scared us! After that he stole Heather’s (my sister-in-law) hiking stick and ran around with it, showing it off to everyone… what a funny little guy… always makes us laugh!

We continued all the way to the dam.
After the hike, we cleaned up and went to our favorite spot in Boulder – the Mountain Sun.
I loved it!!!
