As I was getting my hair done the other day, I was flipping through the pages of Vogue May 2014 issue. At the very end of it my attention was caught by an article about the Italian fashion designer, Giambattista Valli. Well the article wasn’t really about him but about his innovative Parisian apartment. It was not one of those “tour my apartment” articles that many of the designers, and other celebrities have. This article was different. It was very inspiring. It was like looking into the artist’s mind or something like that. His apartment is very traditional yet very modern… He does it by having the “shell” which is an old Parisian apartment (high ceilings with Victorian molding all around) and adding modern fun and colorful pieces to it. To me his apartment is like an artist’s sketchbook. It has messy sketches, ideas, daily thoughts, maybe a photograph of something recorded in it. It’s never the same, each page does not match to the page previous to it. This kind of sketchbook catches your attention. Not everything in that kind of sketchbook will be understood but it doesn’t have to be…

Today was Ride Your Bike to Work Day. It was fun. I was off work today, but still was able to ride my bike all day long until my feet fell off. The day started by waking up early and riding with my boyfriend to his work. We stopped at OZO coffee place and I was surprised by how nice the free breakfast was (for all the bike riders). They had quite the spread- yummy breads (I almost wrote “sweet breads”, but have recently learned that sweetbreads are the nasty bits of the animal… not your typical breakfast… haha), regular and gluten-free bakery, breakfast burritos, and delicious OZO house blend coffee. After breakfast we split our ways, and I started my adventure!

Twenty-four years old, live in Boulder, and don’t have a bike?! What?! Today was the day to change that. I have looked all over the internet for the perfect bike I have always dreamed of: nice minty color with creme colored wheels, cute woven basket in front where I could put pretty flowers in, and to finish it off -leather seat and handles. The search on the internet didn’t really help… Either the frame was too thick, the color was off, or the price was way over my head… Just then I remembered that a few weeks ago I strolled by the bike shop called Fat Kitty Cycles here in Boulder. They sell used and new bikes. So today I went by it again to see if there was anything new and within my price range. What do you know, I asked the guy who works there and he said, “I have three cruiser bikes for your size (aghm I’m 5’4”), I was like HOORAY let’s check them out. The first one he showed me was this green bit up cruiser bike, the second one was the blue pretty one but a bit too pricey, and finally he showed me this beauty! 2014 Virtue Campus Ladies Atlantic Green 49 cm!!! So perfect, so beautiful! The end…no..just the beginning of all the fun adventures we are going to have!!!
